In math we played a game called Monster Rounding. How to play is you roll one die and whoever gets the biggest number gets to go first. Let’s say you roll a 4 you move 4 spaces then flick a paper clip. You have a counter to move. If you get round to nearest 10 you get a light green square piece of paper. If you round to the nearest 100 you get a dark green square of paper. That is only if you get it right, like round 454 to the nearest 100 is 500. We also had a guest teacher come in and teach us some other games to practice our multiplication and our subtracting. We learned how to estimate sums and differences by rounding the numbers to get an answer that is about around or approximately close to the exact answer.
In Language Arts we read some winning poems and essays to get ideas for the What Home Means To Us contest for people that don’t have a home. We learned that we are very lucky that we have a home and some homeless people don’t have a house or an apartment at all. So we are writing essays for Habitat for Humanity where $5 for each essay goes to help build a house for a family. We are working hard on these to make a difference.
On Wednesday we had picture day. We were all cute as roses and buttons and we all smiled with joy.
