In Math, we practiced rounding numbers and estimating differences. We also practiced rounding to the tens, hundreds, and thousands. We learned a new card game called Race to 5000 where you had to use your adding, subtracting, and estimating. We loved it!
In reading, we practiced getting better at reading comprehension. We did some questions together and learned how to find and highlight proof. Today we talked about how to write Book Reviews where you tell what you read and tell your opinion. We are going to read some chapter books and write book reviews to share with our friends in England. We learned about rainbows, light, and fire safety in our reading.
In writing, we wrote about what home means to us to make a difference. We also conferenced with Ms. Ervin to set our goals for writing. We discussed how to write a haunted story and came up with ideas. We made a list of better words for then and said.
In art, we went outside and collected leaves so we could make our own leaf creatures and creations! They turned out really wonderful! Some people made underwater worlds, portraits, flags, and collages. Check them out in the hall!
In science, we experimented to see what light reflects off of. We went around the class room and tried experiment stations. We also learned about refraction when light bends.
In French, we talked about our Halloween costume and we read a book called “l’halloween chez les jumeaux” and one called Je me deguise. We shared our l’action de grace books with the class.
